Custom Murals for Families · Knoxville & the Smoky Mountains
Children's Rooms • Playrooms • Reading Corners • Medical & School Spaces • Vacation Rentals
No two murals are ever the same.
Each one is made for you.
Custom murals for families, children's spaces, and vacation rental properties across East Tennessee including Knoxville, Farragut, Maryville, Sevierville, Oak Ridge, Dandridge, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. Also serving pediatric offices, daycares, and schools throughout the region.
For Families
A custom mural becomes part of a child's earliest memories. A painted wall isn't furniture. It stays, it grows with them, and it shapes how they remember home.
For Daycares & Schools
A welcoming, thoughtfully painted environment helps children feel safe, inspired, and ready to learn. Murals in hallways, classrooms, and play areas create spaces kids genuinely love to be in.
For Children's Medical Offices
A pediatric office, dental practice, or children's clinic is often a stressful place for little ones. A warm, imaginative mural in the waiting room or treatment area puts children at ease and sets your practice apart from the moment families walk in.
For Vacation Rental Owners
It creates a memorable room guests photograph and share. A signature wall sets your property apart in a crowded market and keeps guests coming back.

Create a memorable room guests photograph and remember. I work with Airbnb hosts and vacation rental owners across the Smokies, including Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, to design feature walls that give a property its own identity and keep guests coming back.
I'm Anita Kiss, a mural artist and wall painter based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Art has never been something I found. It's always been something I lived.
I grew up in Europe surrounded by art, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for handmade things. My father was a master decorative painter, and walls were never just walls in our home. They were always something more. I came to America in my early twenties, settled in Tennessee, and carried that love of art with me.
I've painted my whole life, but it wasn't until my daughter arrived that I turned that passion into a profession. Creating her nursery, her playroom, her little world, I realized this was my calling. What started as a mother's love became a craft I now share with families across East Tennessee.
My focus is family spaces, because I believe those are the walls that matter most. But walls are walls, and I bring the same care and creativity to any room that deserves something beautiful. I'm not an interior designer. I'm a wall artist, and the wall is always where I begin.
"Warm and illustrative, with a handcrafted feel."
My work sits between modern folk art and storybook illustration. I use earthy, muted palettes, simplified shapes, and nature-inspired scenes that feel artistic without being babyish. Every piece is adapted to the child and the space, so no two walls are ever the same. I work best with organic themes like woodlands, mountains, and botanicals, but I can match almost any color palette or concept a family brings to me.
Every mural is custom designed for the room, the child, and the family. Designs are professionally planned before painting to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Commission a MuralA hand-painted wall isn't decoration. It's part of a childhood. The colors, the scenes, the world they fell asleep looking at , these things stay.
The right wall sparks curiosity every single day. Something to explore, to grow beside, and to make their own.
Every wall I create is made for one child, in one space. Nothing comes from a catalogue. The personality, the palette, the story, all theirs alone.

It starts with a conversation. You tell me about your child, the space, and the feeling you want the wall to have. From there I develop a design concept tailored to your vision. Once we agree on the design, I schedule your date, take a deposit to secure it, and then come in and paint. Most projects are completed in one to two days.
Most murals take one to two full days on site depending on the size and complexity of the design. Simpler name murals or accent wall designs may be completed in a single visit. I will always give you a clear timeline before we begin.
The wall should be painted in its base color and fully dry before I arrive. A clean, smooth surface gives the best result. I will go over any specific prep requirements with you when we confirm your booking date.
Absolutely. Every mural is custom designed around you and your child. I do not work from templates or pre-made designs. You bring the ideas, inspiration, and color preferences, and I create something entirely original for your space. If you are not sure where to start, I will guide you through it.
My work sits between modern folk art and storybook illustration. I use earthy, muted palettes, simplified shapes, and nature-inspired scenes that feel artistic and timeless rather than babyish. Think woodlands, mountains, botanicals, and soft landscapes. That said, I can adapt to most themes and color palettes, including sports rooms, nautical designs, and personalized name walls.
Children's spaces are my focus and my passion, but I am open to any room that deserves something beautiful on its walls. I have painted hallways, mudrooms, playrooms, and other family spaces. If you have an idea, reach out and we can talk it through.
Yes. I serve families across East Tennessee including Farragut, Maryville, Sevierville, Oak Ridge, and surrounding areas. A travel fee may apply depending on the distance. For projects further afield, contact me and we will figure out what works.
Yes. I love creating large-scale murals for schools, daycares, and children's businesses. Commercial projects are quoted individually based on the size and scope of the space. Get in touch and I will be happy to discuss your project.
Every project is priced individually based on the wall size, design complexity, and scope of work. I do not have a one-size-fits-all rate because no two walls are the same. The best way to get an accurate idea is to send me a message with a few details about your space and I will get back to you promptly.
I recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially if you have a specific date in mind such as a nursery deadline or a birthday. Popular times book up quickly. That said, I will always do my best to accommodate your timeline.
Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date on my schedule. This covers the design consultation and planning time that happens before I ever pick up a brush. The deposit is applied toward your total project cost. Full details are in my Booking and Refund Policy, which you can find in the footer of this page.
Of course. I also love to photograph completed projects for my own portfolio and Instagram. I will always ask your permission before sharing any images, and I will never include anything personally identifiable without your approval. You are always welcome to say no.
Yes, and this is one of my favorite types of projects. A custom mural gives a rental property a unique identity that guests photograph, share, and remember. It sets your listing apart in a competitive market like Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge where dozens of cabins are competing for the same guests. I work with short-term rental owners throughout the Smokies and East Tennessee. Reach out and tell me about your property.
Nature scenes, mountain landscapes, and Smoky Mountain-inspired designs work beautifully in East Tennessee cabins and rentals. Statement walls in living rooms, loft spaces, and bunk rooms are especially popular. The goal is a design that photographs well, feels unique to the property, and gives guests something to talk about in their reviews.
